Ocean acidification is the lowering of pH in marine waters as a result of increasing uptake of carbon dioxide. This indicator is reported as a compound indicator of (1) water carbonate chemistry measured as 'Omega-saturation' and (2) ability for biological calcification in Puget Sound.
